Douglas Quinney

Douglas has a PhD in Computational Mathematics from Oxford. From 1974 through 2020, Douglas taught undergraduate courses in Calculus, Differential Equations and graduate courses in Numerical Analysis at the University of Keele in the UK.

In 2000 Douglas was awarded a personal chair as Professor of Computer Assisted Education in Mathematics.

In the late 90’s Douglas taught two semesters at the University of Jacksonville, FL, as part of a NSF funded project developing distance learning techniques. As a result of this project he was invited to participate in the Harvard Calculus Project and over the last 25 years HCC has produced some of the most successful textbooks in Calculus and College Algebra.
